We believe that a focus on education and skills, and empowering young people, are the keys to unlocking innovation and new ideas that will drive positive change now and in the future.
Over the last 10 years, we have worked with Commonwealth and State and Territory governments to review policies and deliver many projects that aim to improve the education and skills systems, and lift outcomes for students.
We have been privileged to work on projects to engage and work alongside many young people. This includes young people form a wide variety of backgrounds and circumstances.
We know that engaging with young people is about creating spaces where they feel valued, heard, and inspired to act. At The Social Deck, we've seen firsthand how meaningful youth engagement can drive change. Elevating the voices of young people empowers them to become active participants in shaping their future and the future of their communities.
The Social Deck acknowledges the traditional custodians of Country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. Our staff live and work on the lands of many First Nations peoples, including the Gubbi Gubbi or Kabi Kabi people, the Turrbal and Yuggera people, the Bundjalung people, the Ngarigo and Ngunnawal people and the Wadawurrung people. These peoples have lived on and cared for these lands for thousands of generations, and their sovereignty has never been ceded. We pay our respects to them and their cultures, and to elders past and present.
